Aus Vs Eng Mitchell Marsh Rules Out Bowling Option In T20i Series

AUS vs ENG: Mitchell Marsh rules out bowling option in T20I series

AUSSIE all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has ruled out bowling in the upcoming Twenty20 international series against England.

Marsh suffered a side strain during the recent one-day international series against the tourists and will not be risked with the T20 World Cup just over a month away.

The 31-year-old is a key member of Australia's T20 team, but his absence will give other players an opportunity to impress ahead of the tournament in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

"I'm not going to bowl in the T20s. I'm still getting through a few niggles from the one-dayers," Marsh said.

"I'll be ready to go for the World Cup, but I just need to manage my body at the moment and make sure I'm right for the big one."

Marsh's absence is a blow to Australia, but they have plenty of other bowling options to call upon.

Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are all world-class bowlers, while Ashton Agar and Adam Zampa are also in the squad.

Australia will play three T20Is against England in Perth, Canberra and Sydney before the World Cup gets underway on October 16.
